Default Australian Dollar reaching 84 US cents!

Well just last week, the Australian dollar reached 84 U.S. cents ( a 17 year high!). Its also currently experiencing an upturn since Chinese demand for commodities has helped increase our prices. Its also amazing to note that Australia is currently experiencing very steady inflation AND its lowest rate of unemployment ever.. I don't even understand the circumstances that caused this.. because historically, a government needs to choose between maintaining low inflation OR lowering unemployment. Sort of like a trade off... any suggestions to this occurence of low inflation and unemployment?

on another note.. Current Account Deficit has also been steadily worsening.. but investors still think wer sustainable!?

If we were under a Labor Government I'd guess the reason is that the "Books are cooked".
thats what happened during the Cain_Kirner governments here before Jeoff took over(victoria).

Could it the same now with the Honest Johnny & Costello show???

Either way I'd bet on a bit of a slump come late November when we go to the polls.
And for sure if we have a change of Government.

If costello takes over B4 the election (not likely) then I fully expect him to win and for the Aussie dollar to return to how it was when I was a kid....
back then $100 Aussie dollars bought you about $90 American.

The coalition is completely morally bankrupt, and sending us on a path to failure with their ass-licking American toadyism.

However, the alternatives are no better really. What Australia needs is a real conservative party.

You sending a coooeeee to all the Trolls??

Seriously....
I have long believed that 10 years Libral followed by 10 of Labor then 10 of Liberal etc...Was the best....

My logic is that 10 years of Liberal making cash needs 10 years of Labor spending cash.
Then when it runs out you need Liberal to get some money in again.

Now they got that Scam called GST....
the GST is better then winning powerball

I did have high hopes for the Democrats to become a serious 3rd option for us voters.
They DID try to keep the "bastards' honest for a while
They were doing real well till they screwed us over the GST and when what's her name jumped ship.

Politicians = Scammers ?

Saxifrage, agree with you 100% re. Conservative Party, but please don't let them put a ban on hyip investments though

Labor party is a bunch of backward thinking morons.
Liberal would be good if the PM weren't an ass-licking moron towards USA, yes... we've become a slave nation under JH.

Hmm.. hope none of our federal cops is a member of TG, I'd be in trouble soon otherwise.

The one thing I dislike about the chopping and changing of parties is each goes in and scraps the others ideas and projects, these costs tax payers about 2 billion each change of government.
