Of course, if you're doing it the wrong way, Adsense is dead. Those spam/garbage sites suck, and the serps are filled with them. It's extremely irritating when you're looking for something on the internet and all you get are these damn traffic eq pages. real content rules!

David i agree. Pop up ads are totally ignored by like 84% of people .

I don't think Adsense is dead, but it is probably suffering a bit for two reasons.

Firstly there is a lot more competition in the online advertising market. Competing directly with Google there are new ad networks such as Bidvertiser. Plus there are new types of advertising models emerging. Examples would include bidding directories and ad agencies that focus on a particular niche of the online advertising market, such as Widget Bucks and Auction Ads.

Secondly I think Adsense is partly a victim of its own success. Adsense has become so popular amongst Webmasters that I see Adsense ads on almost every site I visit. This can result in ad blindness. In other words website visitors become some accustomed to seeing Adsense ads that they consciously or subconsciously ignore them and don't click the ads. This in turn represents revenue loss to Google Adsense.
