My husband has just purchased a Limited excavation company and has made my brother who is an excavator operator a 50% partner. They agreed that my brother would receive a hourly wage from the company, where as my husband would receive a salary as he does not run the machines but takes care of the day to day operations.
We have just gotten through our first month and have noticed that my brother has charged out for the time it has taken for him to do some of the extra's that my husband feels is just part of business such as moving equipment from one site to another, mechanical jobs- changing oil, fuel filters, etc. When approached my brother argues that the company would have to pay someone else much more to do these things if he didn't and therefore should be compensated. My husband feels the extra time spent doing things for themselves is a chance to save the company money and that my brother is looking at this more like an employee than a partner.
We have a meeting scheduled for Tuesday and I really need some unbiased advice on how to approach this situation so that both parties are in agreement. Who's right?

If someone is a 50% partner they should be paid in the same form so there is no chance for issues to arise.
